Six weeks into the 2019 NFL season and Bearded Glory has yet to lose a game. On the flip side in the Busch Light Division, Hingle McCringlyberry gains control by a game over four other teams with a 4-1 record.
In an NFL season filled with the dreaded headline of “**Fill in starting QB’s name** out with injury,” the Basement Flying Geese have unfortunately read that headline one too many times. The Flying Geese originally drafted starting QB Cam Newton, who is still out with a foot injury and no time table to return. In light of the injury, the Flying Geese’s 11th round pick and backup QB, Jets’ Sam Darnold was set to slide into the lineup. Come to find out, Sam Darnold came down with mono and hasn’t seen action since Week 1 against Buffalo. What did the Flying Geese do from here? Next man up mentality. They signed free agent Case Keenum, who played in two games for the Geese and came away with a 1-1 record before Keenum was benched in Week 4 against the Giants. Keenum is now listed as inactive this coming week against New England. It can’t get much worse from here, right? It does. The Geese then sign Mason Rudolph, the Steelers’ new starting QB after Big Ben’s elbow injury. Just when the Geese feel like they’ve found a consistent answer at the QB position, Rudolph took an absolute piss missile of a shot Sunday where he was knocked out unconscious and is questionable, although highly unlikely, for this weeks game against the Chargers. We wish nothing but the best for the Geese and their QB situation.
